Mozambique’s owen dj Fresh Nunas, is a multimedia artist who started his pro dj culture in New York City. He is half creator of AM ROOTS duo, an audio visual project started in Brooklyn by Filipe Narciso and Fresh Nunas. with AM ROOTS he release his first body of work along with Nulu records, catalog 001 in 2009. Fresh is a veteran dj of tropical sounds who’s built a name in NYC from crafting afro tropical records. always keeping them grounded in the conti- nent — for club audiences in NYC and across the globe. Fresh’s dj sets are known to be avanguard concrete jungle and nu groove, where he seeks out lost musical odds and ends, cutting and pasting favourite moments together to create his house music with his soul printed. This magical blend became Fresh Nunas signature style wherever he goes.
Fresh dj’ing style lead him to fix residency at the famed NYC boutique club Bungalow 8 in 2008. While he was working at Bungalow 8, he was exposed and played for various hollywood events, being his favourite the legendary 2008 Duran Duran’s concert after-party.
Following his Dj success at Bungalow 8, he also became a resident dj at SushiSamba NYC, Cafe Noir, Felix Soho, Favela Cubana, Sugar Cane NYC and Artist & Fleas vintage market until move out of NYC in 2012 and started to travel the world between: Mozambique, Haiti, Panama, France, Belgium, Italy, Holland and Niger.
Fresh productions became known after the AM ROOTS performance at the Nulu Winter Music Conference in Miami 2010. Ever since, he has performed alongside some of the top DJ names in the world such as award-winner Louie Vega, &ME, Djeff, Boddhi Satva, SIFA, Filipe Narciso, Anane, A Million Things (340ml), Life on Planets, BBRAVE, Funky Josh, DJ Patife, Antonello Coghe, Afrolicious, Ritmo Equis, Awesomakossa, Cato, Black Motion, Sid Vaga, Sabine Blazin, DJ Silyvi, Jessi Marco, K.E.E.N.E, Gardy Girault, Oskidos and so many more.
